Maps
From Ottawa, Highway 417 West to the Almonte exit, Highway 49 West
for 12 Kms, then follow the signs. From West and South of Almonte,
Highway 7 or 15 to Carleton Place, then Highway 29 North to Almonte.
From Arnprior and North, Highway 17, then Highway 29 South to Almonte.

Is
there on-site parking?
A: Parking
is at the Almonte Arena, with a free shuttle service to and from the
Games site.

Is
the site accessible to the handicapped?
There are a limited number of handicapped parking spaces. Wheelchair
accessible space in front of the grandstand is available on a first
come first served basis. Washroom facility is wheelchair accessible.

Can I purchase tickets in advance?
Yes - Advance Admission is $12.00 adults. (At the gate, $15.00 adults,
$5.00 children 2-13. No advance purchase for children's tickets)

What is there for children to do at
the Games?
A kids mini-games will be held in the afternoon, with events such
as "wellie hurling" taking place at the beach area. Register at
the beach hut.

What is the caber toss
event?
This is where very large men throw tree trunks, measuring 18-22
feet long and weighing approximately 130 pounds. The throw is judged
not for height or distance but for position. A perfect throw will
land in the 12 o'clock position.

When should we get there for a good
seat?
The grandstands and bleachers tend to fill up by noon but there
is a lot of perimeter space for lawn chairs.

about accommodation?
There are several Bed and Breakfast establishments in Almonte and
area. The nearest motels are in Carleton Place and Pakenham.

Can
I bring my dog ?
No, as of 2007, dogs are not permitted on the grounds, but "working"
dogs are permitted.
