REGISTRATION

DANCE REGISTRATION INFORMATION

This Dance Competition is registered with the S.O.B.H.D. through ScotDance Canada. (Registration # C-ON.CO-08-1010).

Dancing will commence at 9:00 a.m. sharp at the N.L.A.S. Fairgrounds, Water Street, Almonte, Ontario, Saturday August 23, 2008.

Send Entry Form (PDF FORMAT) plus Stamped self-addressed envelope (SSAE) to:

All entries must be received via mail, by Friday August 1st, 2008. (Late entry fee of $10.00 will be imposed.) No entries at the competition, via email or over the telephone!

Fees
Primary, Beginner and Novice dancers - $14 flat fee (MUST accompany entry form)
Intermediate and Premier dancers - $20 flat fee (MUST accompany entry form)
Cheque or money orders payable to: North Lanark Highland Games

Dancers
Dancers must dance in their own category and age group. Age as of the day of the competition. Age groups will be formed at the discretion of the Games Committee according to the number of entries. Age groups fewer than six dancers will be avoided when possible. Smaller groups will be placed in the next higher age group. Groups may be combined on day of competition. Swords will be placed for all competitors.

Judging
Technique and steps will be judged under S.O.B.H.D. regulations. The Judge's decision will be final. This competition is sanctioned by the S.O.B.H.D; therefore, Worldwide (Scotdance) cards must be presented in order to dance.

Note
Primary, Beginner and Novice will dance in the morning (9:00 am). Intermediate and Premier will commence immediately following the Official Opening of the Games (1:00 pm).A ticket for the dancer's entry will be included in the stamped self-addressed envelope you have provided to allow the dancer entry to the Highland Games. Numbers will now be provided at time of registration and will no longer be mailed out.

The most senior Premier class will be awarded cash prizes.
1st -

2nd- $35
3rd - $30
4th - $25
5th - $20
6th - $15

Awards will be to two places less than dancers entered to a maximum of six places. Number of awards are determined by the number of competitors in the category.

NOTE
PREMIER DANCER OF THE DAY: Individual age group trophy winners will dance off with a 4 STEP LILT.
MOST PROMISING DANCER AWARD FOR BEGINNERS AND NOVICE: Judges decision at morning competition.
